Terms of service for AltMed Doctors alternative medicine platform and healthcare documentation services

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using AltMed Doctors' alternative medicine platform and healthcare documentation services ("Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and AltMed Doctors.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services. Your use of our platform constitutes acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Consent to Communications (Australian Spam Act Compliance)

By using our Services, creating an account, booking an appointment, or providing your contact details, you expressly consent and agree to receive SMS text messages and email communications from AltMed Doctors.

Essential Healthcare Communications:

  • Prescription notifications and refill reminders

  • TGA application status updates

Your Communication Rights and Options:

  • You can opt-out of non-essential communications at any time by replying "STOP" to SMS messages or clicking "Unsubscribe" in emails

  • Essential healthcare communications cannot be disabled as they are necessary for your safety and care

4. Professional Standards and Compliance

Our services operate under strict professional and regulatory standards:

  • AHPRA Registration: All practitioners are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and maintain current professional registration and continuing education requirements.

  • Professional Indemnity Insurance: All practitioners maintain appropriate professional indemnity insurance coverage as required by Australian healthcare standards.

  • TGA Compliance: We comply with Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) requirements for complementary medicines and therapeutic goods recommendations.

5. Important Medical Disclaimers

  • Complementary Medicine Notice: Our alternative medicine services are intended to complement, not replace, conventional medical care. Always consult with your GP or specialist before making changes to prescribed medications or treatments.

  • Emergency Situations: In case of medical emergencies, call 000 immediately. Our services are not suitable for acute medical conditions requiring immediate intervention.

  • No Guarantee of Outcomes: Individual responses to alternative medicine treatments vary. We cannot guarantee specific health outcomes or cure rates.

6. Eligibility and Account Requirements

To use our Services, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 18+ years old, or have parent/guardian consent if under 18

  • Provide valid identification

  • Be an Australian resident or citizen

  • Have a valid Medicare card (preferred)

  • Provide an Australian postal address

7. Fees and Payment

Service Fees (AUD, GST Inclusive):

  • Initial Consultation (with referral): $59 - 30 minutes, GP or Specialist referral required

  • Follow-up Review: $49 - 15 minutes, treatment adjustments

  • Repeat Prescription: $39 - 10 minutes, no treatment changes

  • Comprehensive Assessment: $199 - 45 minutes, no referral required

What's Included in All Consultations:

  • Telehealth GP consultation

  • Personalized treatment plan

  • TGA application submission

  • Ongoing care coordination

Payment Processing:

  • Payment Method: Credit and debit cards only (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)

  • Payment Processor: Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 compliant)

  • Payment Timing: Payment required at time of booking

  • Currency: All fees in Australian Dollars (AUD)

  • Private Health Insurance: Rebates may be available (check with your provider)

8. Cancellation Policy

Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair while protecting practitioner time:

  • Standard Cancellation (24+ hours): Partial refund available. Administrative service fee of $25 AUD will be deducted from refunds. Stripe processing fees are non-refundable.

  • Late Cancellation/No Show (less than 24 hours): No refund available.

  • Refunds are processed within 5-10 business days to your original payment method. Emergency situations may be considered for fee waiver on a case-by-case basis.

9. User Responsibilities and Conduct

As a user of our platform, you agree to:

  • Provide complete and accurate health history

  • Update information when circumstances change

  • Disclose all medications and supplements

  • Report any adverse reactions promptly

  • Maintain confidentiality of login credentials

  • Use services only for personal healthcare needs

  • Respect practitioner time and expertise

  • Follow treatment recommendations responsibly

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, AltMed Doctors' liability is limited as follows:

  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service

  • We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages

  • Technical failures or service interruptions beyond our control

  • Individual health outcomes or treatment effectiveness

11. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our liability is limited to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of re-supply.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by Australian law. We encourage resolving disputes through direct communication first. If formal resolution is needed:
